摘要
In order to improve the economical efficiency, the large synchronous condensers connect in parallel with the power grid of China when they are idling. The success rate of idling grid-connection has a close relationship with the frequency difference setting and the phase angle difference setting. Based on the first project of large air-cooling synchronous condensers in China, the power loss of the condenser in the idle condition is firstly estimated, and the frequency slip of the condenser around the rated frequency is then calculated. Finally, the calculation method of the success rate of grid connection is put forward, as well as the relationship among the success rate, the frequency difference setting and the phase angle difference setting. The validity of the proposed method is verified by the host plant and the field synchronous test. © 2018 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.
