摘要
In order to solve the problem of current diffusion of the pulse current when traditional current limiting circuit breaker switching off high rate of current rise and the problem of huge impact and need to detect the direction of current, a new type of bi-directional DC current limiting circuit breaker scheme was proposed. Different mechanical contact driving mode and different forced switching off circuit were used to cutting off fault current and rated current. The effect of arcing voltage and inductance of the vacuum switch circuit and diode circuit toward the current diffusion of forced current was analysis, and the design method of the both forced current circuit were obtained. A 900 V/1 kA circuit breaker prototype was designed and the rated and short circuit breaking test was completed. The short circuit current with an initial rise rate of about 22 A/μs is limited to 10.9 kA, and the breaking time is less than 1ms, and when breaking the rated current, the turn off pulse current is only 1700 A. Test results show that the proposed scheme is effective, feasible and analyses are accurate and credible. © 2017 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
