Modeling and stochastic control of networked control systems with packet loss

The modeling and stochastic controller design problems of the networked control system (NCS) with Markovian packet loss were investigated. In particular, a more general case where some unknown or unavailable elements exist in the transition probabilities matrix of the Markovian packet-loss process was considered. First, the NCS with packet-loss was modeled as a Markovian jump linear system (MJLS) by a discrete system method. Then, sufficient conditions for stochastic stability of closed-loop NCS were obtained via MJLS theories and the packet-loss Lyapunov function approach. Moreover, a packet-loss dependent stabilizing controller was designed with a linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) formulation. Finally, a numerical example was given to illustrate the positive effectiveness of the proposed theory.
