摘要
Dos and Don‘ts in Production Logistics – Knowledge as the Basis for Improving Logistics Performance and Reducing Logistics Costs. In addition to the product characteristics of price and quality, achieving high logistics performance is one of the most important tasks for manufacturing companies in order to differentiate themselves from the competition and thus participate in or even dominate the market in the long term. As the complexity of production processes increases, companies are intensively challenged to balance high logistics performance with low logistics costs. In some cases, avoidable mistakes occur in decisive decision making processes which could be caused by insufficient knowledge of logistical cause-effect-relationships. In this paper, practical logistical decision-making principles (dos and don‘ts) for improving logistics performance with a focus on on-time delivery are therefore derived from sophisticated logistic modeling approaches. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston, Germany.
