Through the analysis on the requirements of RCC-M and RSE-M, the paper comprehensively describes the difference between the non-destructive examination in manufacturing and pre-service inspection. The technical improvement scheme is proposed in terms of the inspection extent, scanning direction, recordable condition and acceptance criteria, in order to solve the engineering problem of the different inspection results caused by different technologies used in manufacturing examination and pre-service inspection. © 2017, Editorial Board of Journal of Nuclear Power Engineering.
