A method of distinguishing core and non-core competitiveness of port group

The core competitiveness of the port group is a complex problem, traditional methods are difficult to quantify the competitiveness of ports. For distinguishing the core and non-core competitiveness of port group, this paper attempts discussing component factors and change trends of port group’s core competitiveness from macro, medium and micro perspectives and determining life stage of port group’s core competitiveness via data envelopment analysis (DEA) method; then, calculating strength of the core competitiveness with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and building “weight-score” matrix to differentiate core competitiveness and general competitiveness of port group; at last, taking port group in Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone as the example and by analyzing examples with this method system, conclusions on the reliability and accuracy are reached.
