A method of reliabilty computation for system with multi-component in reserve is proposed. A system with multi-component in reserve is either an irreparable system (IS) or a reparable system (RS). Poisson distribution model is used in IS reliability analysis, and Markov stochastic model in RS. The more the number of components in reserve is, the higher the computational complexity is. Based on reliability computation of IS with same components in reserve, reliability formula of IS with different components in reserve is deduced; and Markov stochastic model of RS is also presented. By emulating the time of IS to RS, the deduced formula can compute reliability for RS with different components in reserve, so the computation complexity is alleviated. Finally, the rationality of the method is indicated through computation of examples and application in actual project.
