Asia's challenges

Several challenges faced by the cement producers and the material suppliers in the Asian region to provide better living conditions and infrastructure development are discussed. Presently, the cement industry in India, is enjoying a much improved demand-supply situation, but new capacity has not been able to keep pace. The cement industries across Asian countries are planning to expand new plants and new kiln lines to meet massive demands. It is suggested that concrete multistory apartments should be constructed, not only to withstand natural disasters but also to increase living standards and save valuable land.
