摘要
Titanium alloys are widely used in cryogenic engineering due to their excellent mechanical properties. In this paper, through optimizing the alloying elements and proper thermomechanical treatments, an adjustable zero thermal expansion in Ti alloy is obtained. The achieved materials show a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion in a wide temperature region (100–623 K). Our study indicated that the thermal expansion property of the Ti alloys can be tuned by cold rolling and the thermal history. This unique alloy may potentially be developed to prepare the important parts for cryogenic practical applications as a controllable zero thermal expansion material. © 2018 Elsevier B.V.
