The Spanish envelope producer, Tompla, has decided to shut its Desforges EDEP plant in Saint-Jean-de-Braye in France following a three-month consultation period with the facility's staff as required under French law. Tompla intends to shift the plants equipment to its other facilities in France and Spain and sell off the building. The decision to sell off the building reflects a sustained and progressive reduction on envelope consumption levels. Tompla converts 120,000 tonnes/yr of coated and uncoated graphic paper and specialty grades into 15 billion envelopes/yr.
