摘要:
The use of enzymes to respond to chemical and biological attacks by rapid and effective decontamination is discussed. Enzymes are capable of catalyzing essentially any type of relevant chemical reaction can be found in nature. Scientist have developed methods such as protein engineering to redesign enzymes to more effective against non-natural substrates. The enzymes could be utilized either as a stand-alone package which can be added to water holding tanks of emergency vehicles en route to a possible chemical contamination scene or as part of a more value-added package such as fire fighting foams or sprays.
