摘要
The technical differences between US and European Automotive leathers, is discussed. Best hides for automotive leather come from South of Germany. The reason for this are they are firstly large in area, relative free of insect damage, they benefit from good animal husbandry, and they are heavy enough to a level uniform substance across the whole hide. One of the main reason for differences between US and European leathers is the availability or restriction of chemicals according to European EINECS register or the U.S. TSCA. The difference between the two leathers are more due to demand for higher flex or abrasion properties than any other factor.
