摘要
Gyrotrons are regarded as a necessary component of any modern fusion machine. They are presently used primarily to heat the electron component of the plasma. However, to mention just a few plasma diagnostic purposes, gyrotrons can also be utilized to drive the current, to stabilize MHD modes, and to measure the ion temperature by means of collective Thomson scattering. In this work, we discuss how to tune the frequency of a gyrotron and describe the relevant work done at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe.
