摘要
Building information modeling (BIM) is one of the most popular technology in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. BIM used in the whole building life cycle, which is the current trends. To improve communication and coordination between all stakeholders, general contractors utilize BIM technology during the construction phase. Furthermore, the major work of BIM model development is often using the way of collaborative work. The information and correctness of BIM model is very important for BIM project, without the pre-planning, it is easy to cause rework and mistakes by the collaboration development of BIM model. Those problems include rework, schedule delay, and low quality of BIM model development. This paper investigates the practical needs and problems of current BIM collaboration work for general contractor during the construction phase. It also presents a practical framework for BIM work collaboration management for the BIM models development for general contractor during the construction phase. Finally, the proposed frameworks are applied to a case study of a building project in Taiwan to verify its efficacy and demonstrate its effectiveness. Case study results show that the proposed frameworks are effective for BIM work collaboration management for general contractor in BIM project implementation. Finally, the study summaries the limitations, difficulties, suggestion for further practical application. © 2016, Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering. All right reserved.
