摘要
Magnesium hydroxide precursor was obtained by direct precipitation method with MgCl2·6H2O and ammonia as raw material and PVA and CTAB as additives. The high purity and ultrafine magnesium oxide was prepared by calcinations of magnesium hydroxide precursor. The effects of various factors such as temperature, magne-sium concentration, additive amount, ratio of ammonia to magnesium and calcination temperature on the particle size of MgO were investigated systematically. The optimum process conditions were as follows: the reaction temperature 40℃, the concentration of Mg2+ 1 mol/L, the concentration of PVA 0.6%, the concentration of CTAB 1.2%, the molar ratio of NH3·H2O to MgCl2·6H2O 3.3: 1, calcintion temperature 600℃ and time 3 h. The fluorescence spectrum analysis showed that the purity of MgO was higher than 99.9%. The laser particle size analysis and SEM results showed that the average particle size was 190 nm with good dispersity and normal distribution. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine. All right reserved.
