To analyze the impact of inter-carrier interference (ICI) caused by pulse blanking on the error performance of the space-time block coding-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STBC-OFDM) receiver, the analytical expression of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for the STBC-OFDM receiver with pulse blanking is derived over the frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel, and the effect of pulse blanking on the symbol error ratio (SER) for the STBC-OFDM receiver is also analyzed quantitatively based on the SER expression. Simulation results validate the accuracy of derived formulas. © 2016, Chinese Institute of Electronics. All right reserved.
