摘要
The effect of spontaneous polarization (PS) and polar surface anchoring on the director and layer structure in surface-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal cells (SSFLC) was studied. The Landau-de Gennes model was used for the study. It was observed that the polar surface anchoring induces a large electroclinic effect. It was shown that the structures which can be expected to exhibit V-shaped switching exist in the SSFLC cells with the chevron geometry of the smectic layers. It was found that at lower P S, the bistable and monostable structures can coexist.
