摘要
By substituting unidirectional switches of the traditional matrix converter with directional switches, full bidirectional switches two stage matrix converter (FBS-TSMC) is thus constructed. This topology is highly symmetrical, which makes it possible to reverse the polarity of dc link voltage. Due to these features, FBS-TSMC can keep running by modifying modulation strategy when power devices failures occur in rectifier stage. This paper proposed two fault-tolerant strategies for FBS-TSMC to deal with one bidirectional switch open circuit failure and two bidirectional switches open circuit failure in rectifier stage respectively. Mode switch strategy was proposed later to ensure the safe and effective implementation of the proposed fault-tolerant strategies, whose influence on voltage modulation was also analyzed. Experimental results were provided to verify the feasibility and availability. © 2018 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
