摘要
The technical measure and design method of T-shaped stiffener for concrete-filled rectangular steel tubular columns were proposed based on elastic buckling theory. The T-shaped stiffeners were set up along the longitudinal direction of the steel tube, and the flange was encased in the internal concrete, which will push inside concrete to prevent steel tube buckling. The calculation model of plate with four fixed boundary conditions was adopted to simulate the lateral support of the inside concrete, and the critical buckling stress of plate with T-shaped stiffener was derived by means of the energy approach. Subsequently, by controlling the total cross-section effectiveness and taking the critical stiffness ratio into consideration, the requirements for the stiffness of the T-shaped stiffener were put forward. The analysis results indicate that the ability of the steel tube to resist local buckling can be improved remarkably due to the cooperative performance of the T-shaped stiffener and the internal concrete. For concrete-filled rectangular steel tube columns with large width-thickness ratios, the total cross-section effectiveness can be realized and the local buckling can be avoided by reasonable design of T-shaped stiffeners. © 2017, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures.
