Synthesis of polyaspartic acid derivatives with hydroxyl group in aqueous system and its scale inhibition performance

Polysuccinimide (PSI) was sythesized with maleic anhydride and salvolatile as raw materials. And polyaspartic acid derivatives with hydroxyl group (HPASP) was prepared by the reaction between polysuccinimide and ethanolamine in aqueous system. Structure of product was characterized by IR and 1H-NMR. The scale inhibition performance of HPASP was studied and compared with polyaspartic acid (PASP). Results show that HPASP has better scale inhibition performance than PASP. At a dosage of 12 mg/L, the scale inhibiting rate of HPASP to Ca3(PO4)2 can be 63.8%, which is 2.5 times of PASP.
