摘要
Knowing the influence of impulsive voltage parameters on PD features is of significant importance to perform qualification and type tests on Type I insulation systems of electrical rotating machines and thus, obtain objective results to evaluate insulation performance. In this study, the influence of impulse wave voltage duty cycle (0.005%~50%) on PD statistical features was studied on the basis of large number of PD tests performed on crossed enameled wires under bipolar impulse wave voltages of different duty cycles. And the effect of duty cycle on the magnitude and phase of PD was analyzed according to the mechanism of PD under impulse wave voltage. Experimental results show that, due to the lack of initial electronics, short duty cycles can give rise to PD activities with lower magnitude when voltage invert from positive to negative and eventually lead to asymmetrical PD patterns at impulse voltage flanks. According to the experimental results, when performing PDIV and RPDIV tests in accordance with the standards published by IEC using lower duty cycle impulse voltages, not accurate inception voltage would be obtained. To address this problem, impulsive voltage having duration time longer than 100 μs is recommended to increase signal to noise ratio when performing inception voltage measurements on inverter-fed motors. © 2017 Chin.
