摘要
Pickling is a key process in the surface treatment of high quality stainless steel products, with implications both for product quality and environmental impact. Hydrochloric acid is the most widely used acid for this, and once the metal ion concentration in the acid has reached a given concentration, the acid must be discarded. Using various process technologies such as diffusion dialysis, acid retardation or nanofiltration, the bath life of such acids can be considerably extended, thereby not only reducing environmental impact but also benefiting process economics.
