Europe is intending towards aeronautics research as an expanded effort to support the sustainable growth of air transport and to ensure continued airspace leadership. A program called Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) was drafted in the year 2002 by the Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe and was aimed to make air transport more cost effective and environment friendly. France and Germany has taken steps to restructure their R&D projects to match EU agenda. The spending requirement based on a median-growth scenario, is expected to vary if higher or lower rates are observed.
