Research on influence of construction thermal disturbance on the freezing-sealing pipe roof

Artificial ground freezing method (AFG) and pipe roof method (PRM) have been successfully applied in engineering practice, but a combination application of two methods is still rare. Meanwhile, there is no literature found on research on the influence on freezing-sealing due to construction thermal disturbance including excavating, lining concrete casting etc. This study is based on Gongbei Tunnel of Zhuhai Link Road of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The weakening effect on freezing-sealing curtain caused by construction thermal disturbance is analyzed by means of model test. According to the results, the thermal disturbance effects on freezing-sealing curtain caused by excavating and lining concrete casting is limited. The influence degree due to excavating has close relation with the exposed time of excavated surface. The enhancing freezing tubes can effectively suppress the influence on frozen soil caused by concrete hydration heat. ©, 2015, Editorial Office of China Civil Engineering Journal. All right reserved.
