With the research of the Beacon's technical principles and application status, five solutions of location based service (LBS) in library based on Beacon were proposed in this paper, including push notifications, tour guide, reader behavior analysis, situational information literacy training and the navigation of library. On the foundation of solution design, system functions, system architecture and hardware deployment scheme of library LBS based on Beacon were designed in detail. Furthermore, some limitations of Beacon in the actual construction were pointed out. Based on Beacon, library could provide the intellectualized service driven by scene to improve the quality of Library services. © 2016, Editorial Board of Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
