Manufacturer initiative software

Approximately 80% of the innovation in modern vehicles is based on software. Because of this there are large efforts to achieve standards for software functions in vehicles, e.g. OSEK, e.g. in VDA workgroup 13 for quality, and in the implementation of software tools. The vehicle manufacturers Audi, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Porsche and Volkswagen introduce their joint efforts to standardize so called standard software modules for in vehicle networks. This will also include methods for determining process maturity levels, software test and software tools. The objective is to achieve common standards.
