A high standard of living demands top achievement in terms of creativity and industrial added value. Shaping the future means developing, producing and successfully marketing new products. The dynamic development of technologies opens up fascinating opportunities for new products that can generate new jobs and prosperity. This applies, in particular, to the key industry of mechanical and plant engineering. Companies in this sector are generally small to medium sized and stand out through their agility, i.e. through their capacity to react flexibly and quickly to market requirements. In the face of ever more complex market offerings and increasing innovation dynamics, this capacity will no longer be enough to be present at the right moment with the right market offering.
