Kelvin Hughes Observator is to supply five Nucleus 3 electronic chart and display systems (ECDIS) to the Royal Netherlands Navy. Nucleus 3 uses state of the art technology and can be used in either a fully integrated system or stand-alone unit. The company has also introduced the NDR-2002 voyage data recorder in response to IMO requirements. This article outlines design, capabilities and operation of each are outlined.
