Due to weak market conditions and rising energy costs Sappi Fine Paper is planning to shutdown its uncoated woodfree mill in Mobile, Alabama. The mill has a capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year uncoated woodfree. The company is also planning to exit North American uncoated woodfree sector after this shutdown.
