KPS Special Situations Fund invested $10 million in equity to buy Curtis Papers, Inc. as part of its effort to produce speciality and premium papers. The purchase includes four mills in the U.S. and two in Scotland. The mill has a capacity of 200,000 tons and will employ more than 850 employees. Its products include uncoated and coated papers for flexible packaging, label and premium papers. The company intends to focus on cost reduction, capital investments and new product introduction.
