Active distribution network dynamic reconfiguration and DG dynamic control strategy considering time-variant load

As speed of large-scale distributed generation integration is getting faster along with real-time demands on distribution side fluctuating acutely, traditional static reconfiguration methods for distribution network are no longer suitable for active distribution network (ADN), based on technologies of power electronic and information. In this article, a novel strategy for fast DG control and grid reconfiguration considering time-variant characteristics of demands and economic benefit of distribution companies is proposed. The paper simulates spatial and temporal load demands of three different types of customers, and economic model considering purchase cost of distribution companies, fast reconfiguration cost and DG control cost are built and solved with firework algorithm. Six operation scenarios of distribution network are analyzed to verify validity of the algorithm. It is proved that operation cost could be minimized by fully utilizing ADN fast reconfiguration and DG control. It will also guide powerdistribution companies to achieve more DGconsumption. © 2016, Power System Technology Press. All right reserved.
