Analysis of shear strain under large torsion deformation

摘要
The measurement of shear strain in this paper is the tangent of the angle change of two lines, which are perpendicular at initial. Considering the Swift effect of a solid bar at finite torsional deformation, the exact description of shear strain of a solid bar at finite torsional deformation is educed through the deformation analysis. Then, the discrepancy of the different definitions of the shear strain at large strain is synthetically analyzed. Finally, the example of brass shows that the discrepancy of the last two definitions of shear strain will increase with deformation development.
