摘要
Accuracy and smoothness of cut would eliminate secondary machining on the length, and there would be no kerf loss or cutting scrap. The process would be fast, and tooling replacement would be infrequent. Thus, there is a technology that combines all of these capabilities, and it is based on a phenomenon called adiabatic softening. Extreme-velocity impact severs metals with screw machine precision, stamping press speed and few of the drawbacks of shearing or sawing.
