Managing IT in a regulated environment

The use of information technology (IT) in a regulated environment is discussed. The executive working in a regulated environment are required to know that regualtory compliance has become a business risk and regulatory compliance requirements have extended to the entire infrastructure of an emterprise. To improve information sharing and collaboration, manufacturers must move away from fragmented paper and IT systems toward an architected solution of systems and information. The AMR research has identified that the fragmented approach to IT systems investments and regulatory compliance can result in 40% of the IT budget being spent on integration-related initiatives.
