摘要
Cu-doped CdTe quantum dots (QDs) were prepared through water-phase synthesis and CdS shells were coated on these prepared QDs to form Cu:CdTe/CdS core/shell quantum dots, which were then characterized by means of fluorescence emission spectroscopy (FL), UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Moreover, the influence of Cu-doping concentration, CdS shell growth duration and molar ratio of Cd/thiourea on the optical properties of Cu:CdTe doped quantum dots were studied. The cytotoxicity of the samples were detected by using human osteosarcoma cells (MG-63 cells). The results showed that compared with undoped CdTe quantum dots, the synthesized Cu:CdTe/CdS core/shell quantum dots realized a redshift of fluorescence emission, an enhancement of fluorescence intensity and a decline of cell toxicity which can be attributed to Cu doping and CdS shell. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine.
