Finite element analysis for the dual equal channel angular pressing process of magnesium alloy

The dual equal channel angular pressing (DECAP) 3D model was set up using finite element analysis software, and was subsequently used for simulating the extrusion process for AZ91 magnesium alloy. The simulation results such as the extrusion process, the equivalent strain, the load-stroke were analyzed, which demonstrated that DECAP requires a larger load-stroke than ECAP. Higher channel angle will result in lower load-stroke of DECAP. The total strain of DECAP is greater than ECAP. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine. All right reserved.
