摘要
In order to extracted weld pool profile accurately, the image processing technology was used to process the short-circuit transition welding high-speed photography image. Based on this extraction method, This article analyzed the relationship between wire feeding speed, short circuit frequency, weld pool vibration frequency and short circuit transition stability. The result indicated that the short circuit frequency was influe-nced by the oscillation of the molten pool below the welding wire. The oscillation was caused by the traveling wave on the surface of the molten pool. Process stability of S-GMAW could be reflected by the short circuit frequency and its dispersion. When the short circuit frequency was high and the dispersion was the smallest, the welding process was stable; the oscillation of welding pool during S-GMAW was periodic, the oscillating frequency of the molten pool decreased continuously with the increase of the wire feeding speed. When the short-circuit frequency was closest to the oscillating frequency of the molten pool, the dispersion of short-circuit frequency was the lowest, the welding process was stable and the weld bead was beautifully formed. © 2019, Materials Review Magazine.
