摘要
In recent years, modular steel construction has become one of the major topics in the field of construction industrialization, in which the design of the connection is crucial. In this context, the author introduced the development of modular steel construction at home and abroad with three levels: the component level, the structure level and the architectural level. Furthermore, the author summerized the configuration and research progress of connections in modular steel construction at the three different levels. It is found that there have been various types of connections for modular steel construction in practice. However, limited research can be found on their mechanical behavior. The related research far lags behind the engineering practice, which limited the application of modular steel construction in high-rise buildings and seismic areas. Therefore, it is urgent and important to carry out researches on the load-transferring mechanism, seismic performance and design theory of connections in modular steel construction. This paper gives state-of-the-art review on the connection in modular steel construction. The future trends in this field are also given from the authors point of view based on our recent research work and achivements. © 2019, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures.
