摘要
Nickel based super alloys are being studied for possible use in ultra-super critical thermal power plants. This paper reports tensile strength and hardness variation of these alloys at room temperature and 700°C. The objective of this research is to compare cast, extruded INCONEL 625 alloys and propound theories explaining mechanical behaviour. Both cast and extruded samples were studied and the results have been reported. Extruded samples showed higher strength and lower ductility. Both yield strength curve and tensile strength curve showed serrations and the concept of serrations has been elaborated with available theories on serrations. Microstructures were analysed using optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. © 2022. MechAero Foundation for Technical Research & Education Excellence.
