摘要
Due to the excellent insulation properties, composite insulation materials are widely used in power grids. The hydrophobicity of composite insulation material is the key factor of its antifouling flashover characteristics. When the hydrophobicity of composite insulation material on the surface is weakened, water droplets on the surface of composite insulation material will be formed in the wet environment and even converge into a water band, which will affect the insulation performance of composite material. In this paper, the flashover characteristics of hydrophobic test plates coated with water strip are experimentally studied, the dynamic development process of local electric arc on the surface of different shapes of water strip is observed, the critical flashover length of water strip after the breakdown of dry strip is defined, and the electric field distribution along the path of water strip is studied by simulation. The results show that when a local arc is generated on the surface of the test strip coated with water, the electric field on the test strip is distorted along the path of the water strip, resulting in the change of arc development and the change of the critical flashover length of the water strip. The results can help to deepen the understanding of surface flashover process of hydrophobic materials. © 2021, High Voltage Engineering Editorial Department of CEPRI. All right reserved.
