摘要
The application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the Architecture, Engineering and Civil (AEC) field is increasing by the development of corresponding programs. The specialty that to build up and add information on the basis of 3D presentation becomes the foundation to convey, communicate and integrate data and even solve problems between different stages in the whole life cycle of constructions. In this study, optimization of tile laying was proposed as the problem to be solved by the BIM software and its built-in visual programming language and environment. It is shown that utilizing BIM tools helps not only well present the solution through the 3D model for better communication, but also efficiently working out on solving optimization problems. Furthermore, massive alternatives that generated during the problem solving process can be applied to machine learning in the future and contribute to the automatic optimization tool for tile laying. © 2020, Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering.
