Research purposes: CTCS-0 train control system is adopted in Chinese general speed railway, which uses train monitoring device (LKJ) combined with general cab signal to realize train operation protection, which plays an important role in ensuring safety and improving efficiency. However, CTCS-0 train control system was designed based on the condition of railway at the time, which cannot meet the needs of railway development in China. By analyzing the challenges faced by CTCS-0 train control system and related improvement schemes, this paper aims to propose one optimization scheme for CTCS-0 train control system of general speed railway. Research conclusions: (1)The scheme maintains the way of LKJ storing line data, which can reduce the engineering amount of trackside equipment. (2)LKJ verifies the data version by radio communication with trackside server, which can ensure the correctness of line data. (3)The scheme combines balise and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS) to realize train positioning, which can avoid driver's possible wrong operation.(4)The research results can provide some references for upgrading train control system of general speed railway. © 2019, Editorial Department of Journal of Railway Engineering Society.
