摘要
In order to investigate the effects of bulk swirl and twin swirl on the performance of transonic rotors, the chamber-shaped swirl generator was used to produce the swirl and the combined simulation of rotor and swirl generators was carried out. The results show that the positive bulk swirl reduces the blade load and the secondary flow separation on the blade surface and in the passage, which reduces the pressure ratio and increases the rotor efficiency. The negative bulk swirl increases the blade load, increases the flow separation loss, increases the rotor pressure ratio and reduces the efficiency. The twin swirl can be considered as the superposition of the positive bulk swirl and the negative bulk swirl. The influence on the rotor performance depends on the dominant swirl type, and the influence mechanism is the same as the bulk swirl. © 2021, Editorial Department of Journal of Propulsion Technology.
