At present, the continuous generating grinding of gears is carried out exclusively with the use of cooling lubricant. In a project, the technical feasibility of dry machining or the use of minimum quantity lubrication was demonstrated and the application potential derived. In addition, problems were derived which have to be solved before a series application. © 2021 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston, Germany.
