摘要
In the funded project FC-Truck (Fuel Cell Truck), the prototype of a fuel cell electric tractor unit is being developed. The truck's powertrain features a high-voltage electrical system (HV system) with an electric drive axle, HV batteries and numerous HV auxiliary units. This drive topology, which is known from the battery-electric vehicle, is extended to include several PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) fuel cell systems and a compressed hydrogen storage system. The scope of the project at MAN Truck & Bus includes the integration of the fuel cell systems, the HV systems, and the compressed hydrogen storage system (pressure level 700 bar) into a long-haul truck. In addition, the cooling system is designed on the basis of simulations and the thermal and energy management is developed in cooperation with the project partner TU Braunschweig. At the TU Braunschweig, concepts for predictive energy management and innovative concepts for increasing cooling capacity are examined. The work packages of the project partner Anleg GmbH include the design, construction and testing of the compressed hydrogen storage system as well as the production of the tank system, which is subsequently installed in the vehicle. © 2023 The Authors.
