摘要
Regarding evaluation of human safety for exposure to ELF (extremely low frequency) electric field, numerical electromagnetic calculation on anatomical human model is carried out to obtain an induced inner electric field. In previous studies, calculation results using QS-FDTD (quasi static finite difference time domain) or SPFD (scalar potential finite difference) methods have been reported. Considering the electric quantities needed outside the human body, both of these methods require a higher computational cost. In this study, we proposed a two-step process method combining the fast-multipole surface charge and SPFD methods to evaluate the electric field induced in human body exposed to ELF electric field. The proposed method was applied to a comprehensive anatomical human model to obtain the inner electric field induced by external ELF electric field. Because the proposed method does not need to take any electric quantity into account outside the body, it saves a considerable amount of memory and computation time, as compared with the QS-FDTD method that is frequently used in previous studies. © 2019 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
