摘要
A systematic approach based on rigorous process optimization was presented for optimal design of extractive distillation processes. The proper extractants were determined and the vapor-liquid equilibrium was obtained by a thermodynamic model with parameters fitted from the experimental data of extractant. The rigorous optimization of extractive distillation processes was performed by the generalized disjunctive programming (GDP) models on the general algebraic modeling system (GAMS), and the equipment and operation costs were calculated with the economic model of distillation column. The column specifications and operating conditions were simultaneously optimized by taking the lowest annual cost as the objective function. The proposed method was applied to the separation of acetic acid and water. The results show that the proposed method can greatly reduce the energy consumption and production cost compared with the traditional method. © 2021, Editorial Board of "Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities".
