INFLUENCE OF VORTEX GENERATORS INSTALLATION PARAMETERS ON DYNAMIC STALL OF WIND TURBINE AIRFOIL

Based on the k-ω SST turbulence model,the dynamic stall process of DU91-W2-250 airfoil segment with vortex generators (VGs)installedat different spacing (z)and installation angle (αvg) is numerically studied. The airfoil segment performs a typical sinusoidal pitch oscillation motion,and the influence of the VGs installation parameters on the flow control effect of the airfoil segment is investigated. It is found that changing the z has little effect on the aerodynamic performance,while changing the αvg has great effect;when z is from 6 to 8 mm,and αvg is from 13.4° to 16.4°,the VGs have a good effect on improving the aerodynamic performance of the airfoil segment. The strength of streamwise vortices is a major factor affecting the flow control effect of VGs. © 2023 Science Press. All rights reserved.
