Laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) show high potential for applications in the fields of surface functionalisation. Controlling the direction of these nanostructures can only be done by changing the laser polarisation. There is no system on the market for automatically changing the LIPSS orientation. For industrial use it is advantageous to avoid inhomogeneity. In this paper, a system solution is presented in which the control of the direction of nanotextures is enabled. © 2021 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston, Germany.
