<正>Given the increase in life expectancy indeveloped countries,nonagenarian population will become clinically and numerically relevant in our daily routine practice in the near future.Age has been observed to exert a profound influence on the prevalence of severe mitral regurgitation (MR) in the population.[1]Mitral valve surgery remains the gold standard of care for patients with symptomatic severe MR.
